The 39-year-old local man suffered a cardiac arrest at the scene of the crash in Oldbury Road opposite Summer Road, in Rowley Regis, at 5.00pm yesterday evening.

Murray McGergor, a West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman, said: "A paramedic and the CARE Team, which includes a pre-hospital doctor, arrived on scene in under six minutes of the call.

"They found the rider was in cardiac arrest and immediately started resuscitation.

"They carried out advanced life support but sadly, despite their best efforts, it was not possible to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.

"No-one in either of the cars was injured."

PC Chris Ridge said: "We understand the man was riding with another biker along Oldbury Road towards Blackheath when the collision occurred.

"From the CCTV we've viewed it appears several people were walking along the road at the time…it's important they contact us as they may have information that will help explain how the collision came about."

Anyone with information on the crash should contact the police on 101.
