Air Space Wolverhampton, based at Bentley Bridge Retail Park, has welcomed its first visitors to the site as it opened its doors just in time for the New Year.

The £1.5 million park, which is set over two floors, boasts over 100 interconnected trampolines.

It also has a number of areas for a range of activities, including a performance area and wall, air bag, basketball hoops and football goals as well as dodgeball courts.

The site further features two Air Space firsts, ninja run and parkour areas – which will offer attendees the chance to test their speed and ability over a number of different obstacles and challenges.

At this week's opening, Air Space Co-Founder & Director, Rebecca Mayhew, said: "We're delighted to have opened our new site in Wolverhampton as we continue to spread the freestyle jump revolution across the UK.

"We're so excited to be able to offer the people of Wolverhampton and the West Midlands a site that will give them a space to fly and some truly exhilarating activities, including brand new facilities like the ninja run and parkour course.

"If you're looking for something unique to try in the area then come down to our site at Bentley Bridge Retail Park and give it a go."

As well as the range of different equipment and areas, the centre will also offer Freestyle Fitness – a new high intensity, low impact trampoline exercise class – for £8 a session, and Space Academy – a training programme developed by parkour specialist Sam McFarlane to take jumpers from novice to pro.

This is on top of supervised Junior Jumpsters for 7-12 year olds as well as specific trampoline fitness classes.

The opening of the site created 90 jobs for the Black Country.

The hope for AirSpace Wolverhampton is that it will follow the success of the company's initial site in East Kilbridge, Scotland, which welcomed over 200,000 locals in its first 12 months.

Air Space plans to continue to expand with the aim for 16 centres to be open across the UK by 2018, creating over 1,000 jobs for local communities.
