The Bowman on Myatt Avenue, has been completely refurbished throughout by pub operator Punch.

Everything from the walls to the floors and the fixtures and fittings has been updated. Outside a patio area for customers has also been developed to the rear of the pub.

New owner Leanne Maholland, said: "I've worked in the industry for a number of years and can't believe that I'm actually running my own pub, it's such a great feeling.

"I'm looking forward to getting to know our customers and getting involved in the local community, especially over Christmas and New Year.

"I have lots of plans in place for bringing everyone together with regular activities in the pub and family fun days in the summer months.

"When people come to the Bowman, I want them to feel as if they are coming into my house, where they can relax, enjoy themselves and feel part of the Bowman family. I'd like to thank everyone involved in the transformation of the pub and for supporting me throughout the process."

Becki Hewson, new business development manager for Punch, said: "It is great to see the Bowman being rejuvenated and given a new lease of life. The pub is 50 years old and has seen many changes over the years.

"Leanne has put her heart and soul into the relaunch and I have no doubt that she will make the Bowman great success and the focal point of the local community.

"I'm looking forward to supporting Leanne as she continues to develop the business going forward."
