Two vehicle fires happened within half-an-hour of each other in Willenhall in suspected arson attacks.

The incidents were one street away from each other in early hours of Saturday.

A crew from Willenhall was first called to a blaze at Wolverson Close at 3.04am. A white van was completely alight.

Firefighters had to use cutting equipment to access and put out the flames, which gutted the vehicle. As the crew dealt with that incident, at 3.34am they were alerted to another fire around the corner in Dibble Close.

A West Midlands Fire Spokeswoman said: "The car was 100 per cent on fire, completely gutted. It is suspected it was arson.

"Police were called to the scene of the second fire due to the close proximity to the van."
