The man from Leicestershire was in the East Stand when stewards were alerted to his condition towards the end of the game.

He was revived at the ground before being taken by ambulance to Sandwell Hospital, where he later died.

In May, another fan sitting in the East Stand suffered a cardiac arrest seconds after the third goal went in during Albion's 3-0 win over Chelsea.

The middle-aged supporter was saved by quick-thinking supporters and stewards who kept him alive with CPR before paramedics arrived at the scene and took him to hospital, where he recovered.

All stewards at the Hawthorns are trained in basic first aid.
