One eyewitness, who did not want to be named, said: "I drove past at 7.30pm and the whole road was sealed off. It was a very dramatic scene to witness."

A video of the incident has also emerged, showing armed police outside the house leaning on a silver Audi aiming their automatic weapons at the property as a man is brought outside in handcuffs.

He is then led to a police car parked up the street.

A black 4X4 Landrover is also spotted in the shot, believed to be a vehicle for the armed officers.

A crowd had gathered to watch the scene unfold. People have been sharing comments on Facebook and Twitter concerned about armed police gathering in their neighbourhood.

Suzanne Miranda Gill said: "B***** hell.... is nowhere safe?"

Craig Walker added: "Round the corner from mine...too close to home"

Armed police were also called to Walsall earlier this year when a man and a woman were injured after burglars demanded valuables from the pair.

The incident took place above Mason's bar in Stafford Road shortly before midnight on February 3, when the bar was closed.
