Wolverhampton Grand Theatre to receive £400k council grant

The Grand Theatre is set to receive £400,000 from Wolverhampton council after councillors unanimously backed the grant.

This will be matched by the theatre itself meaning it will receive £800,000 in total.

The money will go towards general improvement of the theatre, with special attention paid to expanding the foyer area.

Councillor John Reynolds, cabinet member for city economy, says he hopes this money will mean the theatre can now become 'self sufficient' as it earns more money 'before, during and after shows'.
