The fire took hold at a three-storey block of offices in Lower High Street, shortly before 2.10pm. Firefighters were called from Stourbridge and Brierley Hill stations.

Neil Spencer, spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service, said the fire had affected around two metres of wooden joists.

He added: "The fire affected around five per cent of the building's roof space and crews had to remove some tiles to gain access.

"At 3.39pm we had a message confirming the fire was out."

The fire is understood to be at the offices of Happy Giraffe marketing agency.
