Two men are believed to have threatened staff at the Holiday Hypermarket with weapons before demanding they hand over money from the foreign exchange desk.

The pair escaped with a number of different currencies of cash including; Australian dollars, Bulgarian Lev, Canadian dollars, Czech Krome, Egyptian pounds, Euros, Thai bhatt, Turkish Lira and US dollars.

Detectives investigating the robbery believe that the pair might try to off load the cash and they are now appealing to anyone with information to come forward.

Detective Sergeant Steve Walters, from the Acquisitive Crime Team in Wolverhampton, said: "Our enquiries continue into the robbery but I believe the duo were after cash and will need to off load it somehow.

"I am appealing to anyone who has been offered foreign currency, or anyone who has been asked to convert a large amount of foreign currency that may have seemed suspicious.

"No matter how insignificant you feel the information is, it may be crucial to solving this case.

"Fortunately no members of staff were hurt during the robbery but obviously were left very shaken by their ordeal."

The raid took place shortly before 5pm on Friday, June 26.

Anyone with information is urged to call West Midlands Police on 101. Alternatively people can leave information anonymously by calling Crimestoppers the independent charity on 0800 555 111.
