Kingswinford man in court charged with robbery following carjacking in which woman was run over

A man has appeared in court charged with robbery following a carjacking in Dudley.

During the carjacking a woman was forced from her car, run over and left at the side of Ham Lane in Kingswinford.

Richard Halford appeared before magistrates in Wolverhampton on Saturday in connection with the robbery on April 27.

Halford, aged 20 from Rowan Rise, Kingswinford, and another man were arrested shortly after and questioned over the carjacking.

In addition to robbery, Halford was subsequently charged with failing to take part in a drugs test on arrest, drink driving and driving without insurance.

He is next due to appear before Dudley Magistrates' Court tomorrow.

The second man arrested – who is 19 years old – remains on police bail over the matter.
