Woman, 68, knocked unconscious and robbed while unloading car in West Bromwich
A 68-year-old woman was knocked unconscious and her handbag and laptop were stolen as she unloaded a car in West Bromwich.
The woman was approached by a man, who hit her across the head, knocking her unconscious, before he and another man stole an orange DKNY handbag, a laptop and some hand luggage.
The two men than escaped on foot from the Premier Inn in High Street, heading away from the town centre.
The woman suffered a cut to the back of her head and an injury to her arm as she was attacked while unloading her black Audi car.
Police are seeking the two men and are appealing for witnesses to the attack on Wednesday, April 1, at around 12.10pm.
Sergeant Wayne Dudley, from Sandwell Police, said: "This was an unprovoked nasty attack on a vulnerable woman as she was taking her things out of the car boot. Despite checking local CCTV and carrying out witness trawls, we haven't been able to identify these two men. I am sure someone will know who they are or will have seen something before or shortly after the attack on April 1."
The man who struck the woman is described as Asian, 5'10", of a large build, aged 25-30, and he was wearing a dark woollen hat and dark clothing. His accomplice was of a similar physical description, but possibly a white man.
Anyone with information should contact police at West Bromwich on 101 or call Crimestoppers, confidentially on 0800 555 111.
