Witness appeal after woman killed in West Bromwich minibus crash

Police are today appealing for witnesses to a crash in which a woman was killed in the Black Country.

The woman, believed to have been in her 40s, was a passenger in a silver Peugeot 206 which crashed with a white Ford Transit minibus on Park Lane, West Bromwich. She has yet to be formally identified.

Forge Lane and Park Lane were closed between Great Barr and West Bromwich following the crash at 4.40pm on Thursday.

An a West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "The woman was a passenger in the car. She had serious injuries and all attempts to resuscitate her were unsuccessful. Sadly she was confirmed dead at the scene."

"A man who was the car's driver, was a 'walking wounded' casualty who was taken to Sandwell Hospital."

Any witnesses are asked to call police on 101.
