Fire crews battle forest fire near Kidderminster

Firefighters battled a blaze that had engulfed two acres of forest near Kidderminster for four hours.

Crews from three stations- Bewdley, Kidderminster and Leominster were called to the incident at Ribbensford at 5.31pm this afternoon.

The firefighters had extinguished the fire by 7.27pm, but remained at the scene damping down until 9.13pm.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.

Nobody was hurt and a representative of the Forestry Commission was in attendance.
