Police hunt escaped prisoner from Wolverhampton

Police are appealing for help after a prisoner escaped from jail.

Jamie Griffiths, originally from Wolverhampton, absconded from HMP Kirkham in Lancashire.

And officers believe he could now be in Brierley Hill.

Griffiths, aged 38, was sentenced to seven years nine months in prison at Wolverhampton Crown Court for aggravated burglary and affray in 2012.

He escaped HMP Kirkham last Friday, April 17.

Griffiths is described as 5ft 9in tall with brown eyes, short brown hair and has a number of scars on his arms and a tattoo with 'RIP Ginge' on his right arm.

Officers are advising people not to approach Griffiths but to contact their local police officer on 101 with any information.
