Man arrested on suspicion of harbouring offender as police step-up search for escaped Featherstone prisoner

A man has been arrested on suspicion of harbouring an offender as police step-up their search for Featherstone prisoner Joseph Moss.

Moss, 22, from the Bartley Green area of Birmingham, escaped from HMP Featherstone - where he is serving a sentence for burglary - on April 16.

A 22 year old man from Birmingham was taken into custody for questioning yesterday as police from Staffordshire and the West Midlands continue to search for his whereabouts.

Staffordshire Police spokeswoman Hazel Dockery said: "We are continuing to search for Moss with assistance from colleagues in the West Midlands.

"This morning a 22-year-old man from Birmingham was arrested on suspicion of harbouring an offender and taken into custody for questioning."

Detectives searching for the escaped prisoner have released another photo of him online.

He is described as white, with a thin build and short cropped hair which is light brown in colour and is thought to be wearing grey tracksuit trousers.
