Derelict Cannock shops to become 30 new homes

A row of derelict shops in Cannock is set to be bulldozed and replaced by more than 30 new homes, which will then be put up for rent.

The proposal is for the construction of 23 two bedroom houses and 11 three bedroom houses at land on the corner of Stafford Road and Cannock Road.

They will be rented out by Wrekin Housing Trust. There will be off-street parking bays.

But the project has attracted five letters of objection from residents in neighbouring properties concerned over the distances between the properties and existing homes.

The application will be discussed by the Cannock Chase development control committee on Wednesday.
