JAILED: Eleven years for drug dealers caught with £50k heroin under car seat

Two Midlands drug dealers have been jailed for a total of more than 11 years after they were caught with almost £50,000 of heroin under the front passenger seat of a car.

The Birmingham pair used motorways to transport drugs, and were caught as they were travelling back from Manchester.

Police stopped the car on the M6 near to Hilton Services on November 5, 2013.

The car was searched and found to have a carrier bag stuffed with almost £50,000 worth of heroin hidden under the front passenger seat.

Zia Khan, 25, of Ivy Road, Handsworth was jailed at Birmingham Crown Court for four years eight months, and Abdul Suffi, 22, of Hampton Road, Aston was jailed for seven years.

Detective Chief Inspector Chris Mallet, the crime manager for Birmingham, said: "This is a significant result that has seen street seller dealers jailed.

"There is no place for drug criminality in the West Midlands and we are committed to getting dealers and drugs off our streets ."
