Police remove feathered pedestrians from M6 Toll carriageway

Police dealt with a pedestrians on the carriageway this morning, but these were walkers with a difference - swans.

Shortly after 11.30am this morning the expertise of Central Motorway Police Group was required to remove one swan from the southbound carriageway of the M6 Toll at T6, and two from the northbound.

The team's efforts were met with success, and after shutting the M6 Toll in both directions for around 10 minutes, all three were safely captured and removed from the road.

The three swans were thought to be a family that had got separated.

All three were reunited at Chasewater Country Park.

There are currently delays of two hours from Junction 7 for Great Barr on the M6 northbound after a collision between two lorries.

Two lanes are blocked between Junction 11A for the M6 Toll and Juction 12 for Gailey.
