Centro has almost doubled the size the park and ride site at Rowley Regis.

It's hoped the additional spaces will help to ease overcrowding at the busy station.

There had been a shortage of spaces as the old car park had often been full before the end of the morning rush hour.

The work has also seen the installation of a cycle hub with capacity for the secure storage of up to 30 bikes.

Councillor Roger Horton from Centro said: "Park and Ride has been such a success that the car parks fill up very quickly, which is why we have carried out these works.

"But this work has not just been about extra car park spaces, the Cycle Hub scheme is an excellent facility for cyclists using the station."

Halesowen and Rowley Regis MP James Morris, who has supported the expansion, said: "This is very good news for commuters.

"Rowley Regis is an extremely busy station and these extra spaces are going to make a huge difference.

"The cycle hub is also a very innovative idea which should encourage more people to consider cycling to the station."
