Cannock man injured in attempted Stafford robbery assault

A man suffered minor injuries after he was assaulted in an attempted robbery in Stafford.

As the victim was walking along an alleyway near the Staffordshire University campus, he was approached by three men.

One of them assaulted the victim and demanded he hand over his bag, phone and wallet.

The victim refused, and the three men ran off towards Weston Road when a passerby disturbed them.

The incident happened at around 6.30pm on Thursday, January 22, in an alley between Weston Road and Sheringham Covert.

Fortunately, the a 34-year-old victim only suffered minor injuries and didn't require medical treatment.

The main suspect is described as white, 5ft 9ins tall, of average build, and wore a black hooded top with the hood worn up, black gloves and spoke with a local accent.

The other two men also wore hooded tops with the hoods up.

The potential witness is described as a white man, aged 40, 6ft tall, medium build, with short brown hair and stubble. He wore blue jeans, and a brown suede jacket with a red top underneath.
