The 47-year-old - who shot to fame on Channel 4's Benefits Street - is currently second-favourite to win the Ladywood seat in her home town of Birmingham.

Dee - real name Deirdre Kelly - is considered odds on to beat the Lib Dems, UKIP and the Conservatives in her local constituency this May.

Previously, she said she would stand as an independent MP in the General Election after attacking the Government's welfare system.

The outspoken reality star claimed the current system made it "too conformable" for people to stay out of work and on benefits.

But yesterday it emerged Dee will not be running for election because the £50,000 a year job will not pay her enough.

Her agent Barry Tomes advised the mum-of-two against standing and says she can make more money instead from reality TV shows.

He said: "Who would want to be an MP and earn £50,000 a year? She could earn a lot more than that just by being Dee Kelly.

"It is something to think about when the next election comes round maybe.

"Then she would be 48 and she will have a lot more media experience.

"She already understands politics well.

"Dee would tell you that she hasn't ruled it out. I would tell you as her manager that I'd rule it out because there isn't enough money.

"I have had a serious conversation with Dee about this.

"I am confident if she stood she would probably get elected but at the moment she is doing so much stuff with the movies and TV.

"She gets requested for everything – The Sunday Times, Newsnight, BBC politics programmes.

"If she became a politician then all of a sudden she would be limited about what she could say."

White Dee has become a regular commentator on TV, radio and in newspapers and is also starring in a new film.

She became a household name after appearing in Channel 4 documentary Benefits Street last January.

She is thought to have earned £100,000 from appearing on Celebrity Big Brother and is predicted to earn a staggering half a million pounds in 2015.

Last month her agent revealed she was well on her way to becoming a millionaire but would never leave behind her roots on James Turner Street.

Ladbrokes is offering odds of 50/1 on White Dee winning at the polls, while incumbent MP Shabana Mahmood is 100/1 on in the safe Labour seat.

A win for Liberal Democrats or UKIP is priced at 66/1, while the Conservatives are priced at 100/1 to land Ladywood.

As for Dee's own political leanings, Mr Tomes said while Dee will never be a Conservative, her political options remain open.

He added: "If you'd asked me a year ago, I would have said Labour.

"She doesn't feel for Cameron at all, but she has been thinking a lot about UKIP recently.

"I would say she'd be best to stand as an independent candidate.

"But we are talking realistically about 10 years time.

"I think she'd be mad to stand in this election."
