Woman airlifted to hospital after Wolverhampton bridge fall

A woman was flown to hospital after falling from the Wolverhampton railway bridge on to the ring road this afternoon.

The victim, who had suffered multiple injuries, was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham shortly after 1pm.

A statement from the ambulance service said: "A senior paramedic officer in a rapid response vehicle, an ambulance crew and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended.

"A woman had suffered numerous injuries which were treated at the scene and en-route to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham which she was taken to by land ambulance accompanied by the Midlands Air Ambulance doctor and critical care practitioner."
