Three taken to hospital after Wolverhampton city centre smash

Three people were taken to hospital after a crash in Wolverhampton city centre.

The smash, involving four cars, happened on Ring Road St Peters and closed three lanes of traffic at around 2.30pm this afternoon.

West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman, John Hawker, said: "We were called at around 2.30pm. Three patients all had minor injuries after a multi-vehicle collision.

"Ambulance staff treated the patients at the scene for their injuries before taking them to New Cross Hospital."

Three ambulances and a rapid response vehicle attended the scene.
