Wolverhampton city centre street closed after reports of fight

Part of Wolverhampton city centre was closed-off after a 17-year-old boy suffered a head injury following reports of a fight.

Police were called to Stafford Street shortly before 4pm today and closed the street heading out of the city centre.

The youth was taken to New Cross Hospital but his injuries are not thought to be serious.

A pool of blood could be seen on a section of the pavement near to a bus stop on the street.

Police cordoned off the area as forensic examinations were carried out.

Witnesses or anyone with information are urged to call Wolverhampton police on 101.

The road re-opened at around 4.40pm.
