Married man Paul Reeves sent explicit texts and photographs to one of his one colleagues at West Midlands Ambulance Service after confessing he was bisexual, it is claimed.

The paramedic faces a series of misconduct allegations at a Health and Care Professionals Council tribunal in London.

Reeves has admitted sending a number of sordid text messages and photographs to four female and one male colleague between 2009 and 2012.

He texted each of them that he was bisexual but begged them to keep 'his secret' and claimed no one else knew.

Reeves then bombarded his co-workers with messages giving in depth detail about his sexual exploits and sent photographs of men engaging in sex acts together.

Melinka Berridge for the HCPC said: "At the time relevant to these allegations between 2009 and 2012 Reeves fulfilled the role of team leader within a specialist team in West Midlands Ambulance Service.

"He was responsible for managing a team of five paramedics and was responsible for day-to-day administration of that team.

"In late 2008 he was warned by his area manager that if he was to engage in conduct of sending pictures of genitalia to paramedic students it would be treated as a serious incident and he would be in trouble.

"The allegations relate to a number of female members of staff and one male who worked alongside Reeves."

Reeves sent messages to each of his colleagues saying that he was bisexual and asked them not to tell anyone else because he 'was worried about his reputation'. He then told them 'what he was doing with his male partners', Ms Berridge said.

Reeves described a trip he took to Amsterdam when he said he visited gay bars and was invited back to a male stripper's house.

Describing the incident in which Reeves allegedly exposed himself, Ms Berridge said: "The registrant came into the office where his colleague was working.

"While she was at her desk working he said 'look at this' and when she looked over he had unzipped his trousers and exposed his genitals to her.

"She covered her face with her hands and asked what he was doing.

"He asked whether he had overstepped the line."

Reeve asked another colleague if she thought he was gay before inviting her back to a hotel with him.

Ms Berridge described Reeve's behaviour as 'misconduct of the most serious kind' and said he had brought the profession into disrepute.

He admitted sending phone messages of a sexually explicit nature to four of his colleagues on five occasions.

He is accused of sexually harassing his co-workers between June 2009 and September 2012.

Reeves denies exposing his genitals to one of his colleagues, showing a sexual image to one of the alleged victims and that his behaviour was sexually motivated.

The hearing continues.
