The case against 24-year-old Chantelle Moran-Stokes, of Latches Close, Darlaston, who was accused of murdering 80-year-old Cynthia Beamond, has been discontinued, West Midlands Police confirmed.

A man charged with the murder is still set to appear in court later this year.

Leo Barnes, of Runcorn Road, Balsall Heath, was also charged with the murder of Mrs Beamond and remanded in custody following his initial court appearance in July.

The 33-year-old will appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on October 10 for a plea and case management hearing.

Barnes was also charged with a second murder in Belsize Park, London, on June 28.

Detectives are not looking for anyone else in connection with the murders.

The body of Mrs Beamond was found at her home in Juliet Road, Halesowen on June 29.
