Police were called out at around 3.30pm and the 40-year-old victim was taken to hospital after being stabbed in the torso. Although serious, his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The teenager remained in police custody this morning.

An area of the park was cordoned off following the assault at around 3.30pm so that forensic examinations could be carried out.

Officers said it was not believed to be a random attack.
