M5 delays after lorry fire

A lorry fire on a busy route leading from the M5 was causing traffic delays today.

Fire crews tackled the blaze close to junction one in West Bromwich.

The vehicle blocked one lane of the A41 Birmingham Road close to The Hawthorns.

The cab of the 29-ton Mercedes lorry was destroyed in the fire, which happened at around 7.15am.

The driver was uninjured.
