Healthwatch Wolverhampton unveiled their new website today – which they say will help improve services in the city.

The website will allow people who have used hospitals, doctors, dentists and pharmacies to leave feedback, which will then be passed on to help improve the services offered to people in the city.

And Steve was on hand to give his seal of approval.

Steve, who is the exclusive ambassador for Healthwatch Wolverhampton, said: "I think it's absolutely superb.

"I used to get the best treatment while I was at the club and I think the people of the city deserve that too.

"What's important is that when people go into the doctors they go in with a smile and come out with a smile. We don't want them to be sitting around in a waiting room for half an hour feeling worse about things."

The website was launched at a suite at Molineux, in front of around 50 people who were users of Wolverhampton Healthwatch, which was formerly Wolverhampton Local Involvement Network (LINk).

Wolverhampton Healthwatch, which supports people with health and social care, is one of the first of its kind to introduce a website of this sort in the country.

Ian Hughes, who helped design the website, told the audience the website was easy to use.

He said: "The website is informative, and intuitive. Anyone should be able to use it but there are also other ways to leave feedback, through Facebook and in writing.

"It can be anything from a dentist to a pharmacy and if you can't find it on the website it is simple to add it to the list.

"This technology is cutting edge and there are a number of other areas who are looking at taking this on."

Maxine Bygraves, chair of Wolverhampton Healthwatch, said the information would be passed on to each service provider who could then use the information to raise their standards.

The new website can be found by visiting http://healthwatchwolverhampton.co.uk/

It can also be translated into over 40 different languages.
