Residents had complained about the mound of waste at Refuse Derived Fuel Ltd, in Brierley Hill, which reached 40ft high at one stage.

Today company director Robert McNaughton was jailed after the judge, Mr Justice MacDuff, activated a suspended six-month prison sentence given in June.

He was found in contempt of court for failing to clear the waste by September 10.
