Fares will also rise on the Midland Metro tram line from January 2.

A full adult fare goes up from £3.60 to £3.70 with a return going from £5.50 to £5.70 for anyone wanting to travel the full 23-stop routes.

The changes come as transport authority Centro is planning to scrap free tram and train travel for pensioners amid £14.6 million of spending cuts.
