Shane Long goes for song as West Brom stars party

Baggies may be on a bad run at the moment but surely things can't be that bad for striker Shane Long.

For hours after Albion slumped to a 2-0 defeat against Norwich City, the footballer was spotted busking on the streets of Dublin.

Head coach Steve Clarke is feeling the pressure after Saturday's mauling at The Hawthorns put the club just two points clear of the Premier League relegation zone.

But that didn't stop a party of Albion stars led by Long, Chris Brunt, Ben Foster and Gareth McAuley catching the first available flight to Dublin for the players' Christmas party.

But the high jinks represent a PR own goal by the players who now face two crucial fixtures against Cardiff City and Hull.

Pictures of Long, dressed head to toe in emerald green, circulated on Twitter as he and his team-mates shook off the worries of their form with a two-day jaunt to the Irish capital. The Christmas party was planned long before Albion's slide down the table.

Before leaving, Long reflected on the club's form: "There are still points up for grabs so we can't get too down on ourselves. We've got to forget about Saturday, get back in training, get down to work and concentrate on the job in hand."
