The Walsall-born rocker said he had been approached to star in most TV reality shows but said Strictly was his favourite.

The 66-year-old star said: "I get asked to do all the reality shows but I'm in my late 60s now. I can't be going to the North Pole and the jungle.

"I have been asked to do Strictly and I like the show – I've been down to watch it being filmed with my missus, who is a huge fan and keeps badgering me to do it. But it's a lot of work."

The Cum on Feel the Noize singer insists the only reason he will agree to star on the BBC One show is if he feels he has a decent chance of winning.

Former The Only Way is Essex hunk Mark Wright and 2009 X Factor winner Joe McElderry have both been linked to this year's Strictly.

It came after Holder revealed he often performs impromptu gigs for free in hotel bars when visiting pals in Walsall.

He said he cannot resist breaking into song after a night on the town with old school friends.
