Plans for a new multi-million pound health centre in Wolverhampton have gone on display to the public for the first time.

The proposals were shown to people at the Neil Dougherty Community & Resource Centre, Masefield Road.

The £4 million new one-stop centre in The Scotlands will see two GP surgeries in the area merged and other services, including a pharmacy and treatment, brought on site.

Four different options on how the building will look were shown to members of the public at yesterday's event.

Mark Giles, head of design for the architects Ashley House said there had been a "steady stream of people" throughout the day.

He said: "People are keen to have their say on the plans. At this stage we don't have final plans drawn up. There are four options on how it will look and we are keen to hear what people think."

If all goes ahead, the centre will be open by summer 2014.

It will be built on the former Underhill House site in The Scotlands.

It will combine the Dr Hickman & Partners GP surgery in Blackhalve Lane, and Dr Linnemann's surgery in Cannock Road, as well as a pharmacy.
