Broadband internet speeds in Wolverhampton will be among the first in the country to be doubled, provider Virgin Media said today.

The firm is rolling out 120mb broadband across the country, with Wolverhampton the first in the West Midlands to receive the upgrade.

Virgin's Double Speeds upgrade programme will continue over 18 months – set to be complete by mid 2013.

Jon James, executive director of broadband at Virgin Media said: "Virgin Media has driven broadband development in the UK and we're delighted to be boosting our customers in Wolverhampton broadband speeds once again."
