Wolves and Albion fans put their rivalries aside ahead of the Black Country derby as they united for a fundraising walk.

Fans braved the cold for the 10.6 mile March to Molineux, which raised thousands of pounds for Acorns Children's Hospice.

Leading the way were Baggies supporter Kieren Caldwell, from Stirchley in Birmingham, and Wolves fan Ian Marrey, from Stourbridge, whose children, Emma and Jude, have both been cared for by the hospice.

Bobby Gould, who has managed both teams, ran the route, setting off in a Baggies shirt and ending up in a Wolves top.

Around 60 people took part in Sunday's walk and were backed by Baggies legends Cyrille Regis and Brendon Batson. Ex-Wolves star Mel Eves also pledged his support.

Kieren, aged 34, and Ian, 41, collected the game's match ball from the centre circle at The Hawthorns before setting off at 9am, arriving at Molineux in time for kick-off.

Cyrille Regis said: "Black Country folk, regardless of what side they are on, have put aside their football rivalries. It is great we can all put our differences aside for the greater good."

Among those taking part were Wolves fan Sharon Dean, aged 40, from Hednesford, and Baggies fan Helen Allport, aged 45, from Leamore. Donations can be made at www.justgiving.com/WalkForAcorns
