Drivers will face disruptions on a busy stretch of the M6 in the Black Country as a month-long £1.5million resurfacing scheme takes place.

Overnight improvements start from Wednesday.

The work is taking place between Junction 9 for Wednesbury and Junction 10 for Walsall.

Some full overnight closures will be necessary.

On other nights, one or two lanes will be closed off and a 40mph speed limit will be put in place.

The work will be done at 10pm-6am to minimise disruption.

Wayne Norris, Highways Agency project sponsor, said: "This work is essential to maintain this busy carriageway in a good condition."

Letters have been sent to people living by the M6 to warn them about the works.

The M5 is also undergoing 10 weeks of work.
