Murder accused Luke Walker will stand trial for the death of his long-term girlfriend in October next year, it has been revealed.
Prosecutors claim Walker, from Brierley Hill, beat Chelsea Hyndman to death in a "fit of jealous rage" in the holiday resort of Malia.
The 23-year-old has pleaded not guilty. It today emerged he will stand trial on October 16, 30 months after Miss Hyndman died.
His father Patrick, who runs Walker's Electrics in Brierley Hill, said while it was a longer delay than hoped, the family were pleased they now had a date pinned down.
"We've been in limbo for a while now so we are relieved. We can see when it all might end," he said.
