Hundreds of fish have been stolen from a Willenhall pool during night time raids, it was claimed today.

A group of men and women were seen taking fish from the pool in Willenhall Memorial Park and putting them into the back of a van.

Yesterday the Express & Star revealed a lack of oxygen in the water had caused hundreds of fish, including carp and roach, to die.

The plummeting temperatures are thought to have contributed, with a thick layer of ice formed over the pool.

But as fish make their way to parts of the pool where they can get air this has made them "easy pickings" for thieves, anglers said today.
