A newly-wed from Stafford is preparing to be the centre of attention following the engagement of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Kate Bevan, aged 21, who lives off the Marston Road, is hoping for a life as a lookalike to Prince William's bride after the amount of people saying she looked like her shot up.

Mrs Bevan — who got married herself in the summer to boyfriend Nathan — works at a pharmacy on the Wolverhampton Road in Stafford.

Since news of the Royal wedding broke on Tuesday, customers have been dazzled at how similar she looks. "Lots of them have come in this week and said I look like Kate Middleton," she said.

"It's a compliment to be honest — I'm really pleased."

Mrs Bevan — who hails originally from Dudley — said she hoped to be appearing at fashion events and maybe even become an official lookalike for Kate in the future.

"I would love to be but it would also be good to get some publicity. My sister-in-law works in publicity and we're hoping I can get into magazines and do some events."
