Black Country murder suspect Luke Walker today spoke of his living nightmare in a Greek prison after being accused of beating his girlfriend to death.

In an exclusive interview with the Express & Star, Walker spoke from a rented apartment in Crete, where his family have been living since he was arrested five months ago.

He has been accused of killing his long-term girlfriend Chelsea Hyndman, aged 20, in a fit of "jealous rage".

After 150 days behind bars he was released on bail yesterday after his family handed over £15,000 bail money to the Greek courts.

"For me, it's not a celebration to be out - it's just a relief," Walker, aged 22, of Brierley Hill, said today.

"It has been an absolute living nightmare. Coming out into the world without Chelsea is so hard. She was the love of my life."

Miss Hyndman, of Castleford, Yorkshire, died in May after being admitted to hospital in Heraklion suffering from abdominal pain.

She had been transferred to the Venizelio hospital where she underwent an operation but died in intensive care.

"I have been living anyone's worst nightmare," said Walker. "I'm an innocent man, accused of killing the girl I loved, in a foreign country."

He said he had convinced Miss Hyndman to go to hospital as she had been feeling unwell after a fall on a girls' night out.
