When his beloved kangaroo teddy went missing during a shopping trip in Walsall Scott Parry was devastated.

But the cuddly toy has now been found safe and sound after hundreds of people joined an internet appeal to find him.

Six-year-old cerebral palsy sufferer Scott, from Brownhills, had an emotional reunion with Boy Kanga after a grandmother found the teddy in the lighting section of a Walsall store.

He had last seen the missing marsupial during a shopping trip to Dunelm Mill soft furnishings shop, at Walsall's Reedswood Retail Park.

And with the heartbroken youngster becoming increasingly concerned, more than 300 people joined the appeal on social networking website Facebook — entitled 'please help my son, Scott's kangaroo has run away!' A £50 reward was even put on offer for the safe return of the toy, which Scott has had since he was

His mother, Vicki Beamand, said he was overwhelmed to be reunited with Boy Kanga following a holiday in Devon.

"We got a call saying it had been found while we were away and Scott couldn't wait to get home," she said.

"The woman who found it didn't want a reward, because she said she was a grandmother and would want somebody to do the same if her grandchild lost something like this.

"We had so many phone calls, from so many people and we're just so grateful.

"We even had one woman donate a kangaroo teddy she got in Australia. Scott thinks it's Boy Kanga's cousin and he's become quite attached to it now."
