I remember Tony Brown when I was young. This guy deserves every award he gets. Great player, well done. Just for the record, I’m a Wolves fan but we should all recognize the people who made this game enjoyable for us, regardless of who they played for. Well done Bomber and thanks for a great career.

Why not recomend him to be included in the next honours list. Many of these so called celebs who are given these awards do not even come close to this man for integrity and loyalty to West Bromwich Albion.

Although I am a Wolves fan, I feel that ‘Bomber’ deserves to be recognised for all his achievements for WBA.
He was a wonderful player and a true servant for the club and he was a pain in the …. when playing against Wolves but nonetheless a legend for the Albion.
A statue though would be a more fitting acolade to one of WBA’s greatest!

My all-time favourite Baggies player deserves to be freeman of Sandwell. Not many players nowadays have any loyalty to a club like Bomber did and still has.

Hi Bomber
I do hope you are reading these posts as no accolade can be too high for you. A teenager from Oldham to West Brom (you stayed with the Uptons) and still local. Your loyalty, skill, entertainment, committment and those truly memorable goals made you in my opinion the most overlooked player for England of ALL time!!
To be honoured and recognised in this way is a reflection of what you are to Sandwell and most importantly of how you are still being remembered by us, your fans. It’s brilliant to see posts from fans of other clubs and not just those of the Baggies. Your cult following is probably more than you could ever imagine and may it carry on. And yes, your commentating on the Radio is a means of continuity in being in touch with your fans but what about a biography follow up or even a DVD on your illustrious career. There must be plenty of footage and pics in those archives somewhere. Come on Bomber, let’s crack a few more in!
