All creatures great and small were at Bilston Craft Gallery as part of a Spring fun day.

Star attraction at the gallery was four-year-old giant English rabbit Alex, who weighs just under a stone.

More than 100 children flocked to the Mount Pleasant gallery where they got the chance to meet Alex and other creatures including guinea pigs, rats, chinchillas and ferrets all from Dudley Zoo.

They also enjoyed an Easter egg hunt, an Easter bonnet making session and facepainting.

Amy Hickman, education assistant at Dudley Zoo, said: "The children really enjoyed seeing Alex.

"I don't think many of them had ever seen a rabbit that big before.

"They got the chance to handle the pets and could have the rats on their shoulders if they wanted."

It is the fourth time Bilston Craft Gallery has held a Spring fun day.Exhibitions assistant Carrie Jones said it had been a big success.

She said: "There were at least 100 children there and they got little chocolate eggs."

They were all queuing up to get their faces painted as different animals before going off to meet the animals in person."Entry to Bilston Craft Gallery is free.
