The 43-year-old, who is the oldest member of the 12-man squad travelling to Brazil, returns to the fold after missing out on selection for London 2012.

It will be Ash's fifth appearance at the Paralympics and he said it will be an 'emotional moment' to pull on the Team GB jersey once again.

"I have worked hard over the last three years to re-establish myself in the GB team after missing out on selection for London 2012," he said.

"I have put in so much this time around, so much sweat and time on the court and in the gym.

"But to know that I will have the honour of competing for ParalympicsGB again at my fifth Paralympic Games, it just makes it all worthwhile.

"Pulling on that jersey again will be an emotional moment."

Also in the Rio squad are the likes of Jonathan Coggan, Chris Ryan, Gavin Walker and Jim Roberts, who is from Welshpool.

Lorraine Brown, performance director and team leader for wheelchair rugby, said: I am delighted for these athletes, it's a fantastic achievement.

"The announcement is the culmination of a lot of hard work and effort over many years."
