Gorgeous FM, which covers the Black Country, Staffordshire, Shropshire and Birmingham on DAB, will highlight the work of stars including George Michael, Jimmy Somerville, Lady Gaga and Troye Sivan.

The Wolverhampton-based station plans to focus on a different icon each day during this month, while presenters will also be chatting to members of the region’s LGBTQ+ communities and staff members at venues and support groups to share their life experiences.

Gorgeous FM manager James Levett said reaction to the station had been "phenomenal" since its launch in September 2020.

"We are seeing monthly interactions of over 50,000 with our broadcast and online content," he said.

“LGBT History Month is an opportunity to celebrate the lives and accomplishments of our eclectic communities.”
