Television talent show winner Connie Fisher proves her mettle playing eccentric nun Maria, who melts the icy heart of Captain Von Trapp.

Her love interest is played by former Dynasty and Robin Hood star Michael Praed. Connie won the BBC show How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria? in 2006, landing her the role in the London Palladium show, where she was watched by more than two million people.

The much loved musical, adapted into the Oscar winning Julie Andrews film, features the songs Do-Re-Mi, Climb Ev'ry Mountain, The Lonely Goatherd and the title song The Sound of Music.
