Police had stepped up patrols in the Spring Vale area of the city following complaints from residents that parents have been causing obstructions at drop-off and pick-up times.

Sergeant Jon Yeomans, from the Spring Vale neighbourhood police team, said patrols had been carried out at other schools too.

He added: "Officers have patrolled and advised parents regarding inconsiderate parking at all four primary schools.

"Enforcement has also [taken] place at the Manor Primary School where two motorists were issued with notices for causing an unnecessary obstruction.

"We will continue to work in partnership with the schools, parents and council to reduce complaints."
