In 1943 Hannah Lewis and her family were marched to a labour camp in the village of Adampol in Poland.

Hannah, aged 77, and her father were the only members of their family to survive the camp.

Dudley North MP Ian Austin has invited her to speak at the town's annual commemoration at the Broadway Campus of Dudley College.

He said: "The service was really well attended last year and I hope the same can happen this year.

"To have Hannah speaking at the event is a great honour. Hearing her will be a real privilege and something I'm sure the veterans, residents and students in the audience will never forget."

The service, organised by Mr Austin and Dudley College Students' Union, has been running for seven years with the support of the Holocaust Educational Trust.

Last year hundreds heard Holocaust survivor Mala Tribich describe her experiences of surviving Bergen-Belsen concentration camp.

The event will include students from Bishop Milner Catholic School, religious leaders, the town's mayor and will conclude with the ceremonial lighting of the Candle of Remembrance and a two minute's silence.

The Commemoration will take place from 12:30pm until 13:30pm on Friday, January 23.
