Kiddisave, based in Green Lane, went into liquidation in November after 17 years worth of trading.

Customers across the Black Country reported losses in excess of £500 for goods they had paid for and faced an uphill battle to get their money back.

But today, liquidators Mayfields Insolvency Practitioner, confirmed there was no money left to pay customers.

Kay Possart, from the Halesowen based firm, said: "Quite a substantial amount of creditors who paid on their credit and debit cards have been unable to recover money.

"There are also creditors that have paid cash who won't be able to get any money back.

"At the beginning of the liquidation we hoped after valuing the stock there would be enough to pay a dividend to creditors.

"Unfortunately the realisation from the stock was substantially less. That coupled with other problems such as having to pay rent for storage of the stock, recovery from suppliers, meant the costs were high."

Ms Possart added: "I am going to be able to close it (the account) soon.

"There won't be any money to pay people out. The market hasn't allowed for that."

Back in November, the Express & Star revealed that Simon Cox and his partner, Jessica Russon, who was six months pregnant at the time, had paid £500 in cash for a new Cosatto pram in October.
